The peoples House

The People’s House VR is a virtual reality (VR) experience that takes you on an intimate journey inside the White House. Through the transportive power of VR, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama share their personal stories and reflections on their time living and working in the White House. You’ll also learn about the building’s profound history since its creation over two centuries ago.

 

The People’s House VR was developed by Headspace Studio in collaboration with the White House Historical Association. It is available for free on the Oculus Rift, Rift S, and Oculus Quest headsets.

The experience is divided into three sections:

  • The West Wing: Explore the nerve center of the White House, where the President and their staff work.
  • The Executive and Private Residences: See where the President and their family live and relax.
  • The State Floor: Discover the grand rooms where the President and First Lady host official events.

In each section, you’ll be guided by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who will share their personal stories and reflections on their time in the White House. You’ll also learn about the history of the building and its role in American democracy.

The People’s House VR is a unique and immersive experience that allows you to explore the White House in a way that’s never been possible before. It’s a great way to learn about American history and government, and to see the White House through the eyes of those who have called it home.

Here are some of the things you can do in The People’s House VR:

  • Stand in the Oval Office and experience the view from the President’s desk.
  • Walk through the Blue Room, where the President meets with foreign dignitaries.
  • Dine in the State Dining Room, where the President hosts official dinners.
  • Explore the Rose Garden, where the President holds press conferences.
  • See the White House from the South Lawn, where the President greets guests from around the world.
